Old people excluded from trials
[edit]I think Munir Pirmohamed, professor of molecular and clinical pharmacology at the University of Liverpool, reported in the Pharmaceutical Journal[1] is an adequate source for this. It's common knowledge that old sick people are rarely included in clinical trials, and a House of Lords Inquiry is a reputable source. Rathfelder (talk) 19:01, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

Needs a WP:MEDREV review to make such a statement in an encyclopedia about "poisoning older people" because the senior age group was excluded from clinical trial designs, then developed adverse effects when overdosed on the medications studied in younger people. The Pharm J and House of Lords opinion are mainly news and speculation without firm evidence given for the opinion. --Zefr (talk) 21:25, 11 December 2019 (UTC) There is no shortage of good evidence about over-prescribing and hospital admission. Outsourcing
[edit]Hi all! I would like to include a section on the outsourcing/globalization of clinical trials. With the globalization of clinical trials, there are ethical implications not included in the article. My user page has more info & some references. Thank you for the feedback!Mgregg21 (talk) 02:32, 10 February 2021 (UTC) — Preceding undated comment added 02:26, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- There is significant content about outsourcing of clinical trials at the Contract Research Organization article, but a better cross-reference from here is likely a good thing. --02:30, 31 July 2022 (UTC)
Virtual Studies
[edit]Wondering what people think about addition of a section for in silico or virtual studies, or if this should be relegated to a separate new article. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 02:15, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Analysis of clinical trials
[edit]We have an article on analysis, but it has had little attention and weak content for years. A student (in a project on osmosis) has been trying to edit that article this month, but the content and sourcing are poor. I have proposed a merger with this article as a section. 'Analysis' is a complex subject, requiring full-time statistical teams in clinical trial management, indicating a need for a substantial new section. Should we have a section here or develop a separate article on analysis? Zefr (talk) 14:22, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- Per {{main}}:
When a Wikipedia article is large, it is often written in summary style. This template is used after the heading of the summary, to link to the subtopic article that has been summarized.
, I, therefore, think it reasonable, in terms of Wikipedia's style, to have a section here and develop a separate article on analysis. --Euphemistically (talk) 15:40, 9 July 2022 (UTC)- Agreeing with the above comment, and beginning a section with this edit. Analysis is a large complex topic, suggesting that additional content should be developed mainly on analysis of clinical trials. Zefr (talk) 21:31, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
Regulation of clinical trials
[edit]Wondering if there would be support for addition of a section related to regulation of clinical trials, primarily by national health regulatory agencies. Thanks for your thoughts. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 02:32, 31 July 2022 (UTC)
